Chickpea rice is a vegetarian recipe. No meat and yogurt are often used in it. In Asia, people make this kind of recipe during the winter season with green raita. Raita is a side dish in Pakistan and India. It's made from yogurt and mint. You can prepare chickpea rice in many ways. Like when you add chicken to this recipe. Chickpea rice is a very famous food in Asia. It is thus also available in restaurants, although people make chickpea rice and distribute it among the poor in our country. The recipe we are sharing today is Chickpea Rice. This is also sometimes called cholay ka pulao recipe in Pakistan

 

INGREDIENTS

 

Rice 500 g

Onions 125 g

Chickpeas 125g

Ginger 30 g

Butter 2 tbsp

Large cardamom 3 pieces

Black pepper 8 pieces

Cinnamon 1 piece

Clove 6 pieces

Salt of your choice

How to make chickpea rice?

 

Soak 125 g of chickpeas and store. Do not forget that before preparing the chickpea rice, you must soak the chickpeas for at least 12 hours.

 

Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan and add 125 g of chopped onion. When the color of the onion changes to almond, chop ginger 30g and put on it.

 

When onions and ginger are red, add large cardamom 3 pieces and black pepper 8 pieces. Then add cinnamon 1 pc and clove 6 cloves, and add salt according to your choice. After adding all the hot spices, add the chickpeas along with the water and bring to a boil.

 

When the chickpeas are halved and there is about 1,250 kg of water left in them, we squeeze the rice and let it cook.

 

When a grain remains in the rice and the water dries up, sprinkle some ground black cumin and apply it to the rice.

 

The flame should be low. After 10 minutes, when steam starts coming out, remove and serve hot.
